• My Short List of Favourite Beaches on Paros

  Paros is a panoramic island with scenic and exotic beaches. While several other islands in Greece can boast of beaches, the ones on Paros are typically sandy with the water staying low which makes them a great holiday destinations for families with young children. These are especially a haven for people like me who are not very fond of noisy beach parties and like to listen to the tides lashing the coast even as the fresh, fragrant breeze brushes your face.

  Here is a short list of my favourite beaches on Paros.

  1. Golden beach – located on the island’s east coast, this beach is famous for its strong winds. About a kilometre long, it is a host to some fine bars including a Pool bar. Just follow the roadside signboards between Chrissi Akti and Dryos and you’ll be here before you realise.
  2. Aliki – this stands at the centre of village Aliki. This one is a great family holiday spot. I’ve often been here with my family and we’ve spent quite a memorable time wading our way through the cool, shallow water. Bars and taverns add richness to the experience of vacationing here.
  3. Piso Livadi – is one beach that remains packed during weekends. However, the beautiful sunset and the lightness of being that this place makes you feel are equalled by few other beaches.
  4. Santa Maria – crowded and customised completely for the typical tourist. You may end up yearning for solitude here for the whole beach remains jam packed with vacationers all the time. But of course, the bars and food are of the best across Paros.
