Cyclists – Why We Should Love Them
On the road, it is every man for himself. There are very few loyalties when it comes to getting behind the wheel, but there is one time that all drivers will come together and create a unison that not even the very best charity concert could ever create: hatred of cyclists.
But where does all this vitriol and frustration come from? Yes, they can be tricky to pass on narrow roads occasionally, but really they’re probably adding on about 20 seconds to your journey at the most. And, yes, it can be annoying to see them fly past you as you are stuck in traffic and occasionally poke their noses out and sneak through the odd red light, but does any of this really affect us?
The international couriers and vehicle delivery companies here at ANYVAN actually rather like our two-wheeled counterparts. Think about it – the more bikes there are on the road, the less congestion and therefore the easier it is to get to your destination. For couriers like us, that is a rather big bonus. They don’t need parking spaces, meaning there are plenty more for us.
They’re helping the environment too – for every bike on the road, carbon emissions are cut and you can feel that little less guilty about using your own car. They also don’t wear down the road, meaning getting from A to B is a much smoother ride for everyone. If anything, these Lycra-clad travellers just make your journey a whole lot easier.
So don’t hate them just because they’ve got fewer wheels than you and miss the occasional queue. But if you still can’t find a way to like them, just remember that when it is raining, they’re getting wet and you’re nice and dry. That should put a smile on your face.?
